"CIRCULATION!" — One Key To ENDING

Y
ahoo! Yahoo! Here’s new information on boosting your circulation to heal festering diabetic wounds (ulcers) that may lead to amputation and other complications. The process also helps reverse neuropathy by regenerating nerve cells.

It involves a non-drug, non-invasive device that you can use right in your home for just 30 minutes a day. And it takes as little as 3 weeks to show significant results!

But, before we examine these devices, I want you to really grasp why good circulation is so vital to diabetics. So please turn off the TV, find a comfortable chair and read the following at least twice. Some of this information is scientific and technical, but the message is very easy to understand if you persist!

In past Lessons I discussed how alpha lipoic acid (ALA) combined with gamma linolenic acid (GLA) may act to speed nerve transmission in diabetics. These two natural substances need increased circulation for them to help heal wounds and neuropathy.

Increased blood flow delivers more nutrients to nerve and muscle cells and also aids in flushing away cellular toxins. By also improving the health of capillaries that nourish your legs, eyes, brain and hands (extremities) ALA & GLA may prevent or abolish neuropathy and help heal wounds.

But, as I’ve recently learned, ALA & GLA is just one aspect in the battle to conquer neuropathy.

Link Between Nitric Oxide and
Boosted Circulation Discovered!
Three Americans were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1998 for discovering the effect of nitric oxide (NO) on circulation — which is disturbed in all diabetics. Thomas Burke, Ph.D., President of Integrated Systems Physiology, Inc., 12635 Montview Blvd., Suite 216, Aurora, CO 80010, developer of an MIRE device, explains the role circulation plays in wound healing and neuropathy.

"…nitric oxide (NO) metabolism is necessary for normal circulation (venous, arterial, and lymph flows) and for the ability to sense pain, temperature, and pressure. Diabetic patients have deficits in circulation, which often lead to blindness, kidney dysfunction, heart disease, and ulcers in the lower legs. Clearly circulation is impaired in diabetic patients. In addition, peripheral neuropathy (the inability to sense pressure or temperature in the feet) is a consequence of diabetes in many patients. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is a primary cause of ulcers and eventual amputation of digits or even whole limbs."

Nitric oxide (NO) is made from the amino acid L-arginine which is broken down from dietary proteins in your small intestine. PRIMAL foods containing L-arginine include: dairy, nuts, chicken, turkey, and other fowl.

L-arginine is converted to nitric oxide by the endothelial cells that line every blood vessel including the capillaries. In diabetics, atherosclerosis often blocks a portion of the vessel so that the endothelial cells are not able to properly absorb L-arginine — resulting in disrupted NO synthesis. But, that’s not all. Atherosclerosis also impedes the delivery of oxygen to all cells which is a crucial co-factor needed to generate NO.

How NO Benefits Blood Flow
As a gas, NO diffuses into the smooth cells that surround the endothelial lining of blood vessels thereby relaxing them. Relaxed blood vessels open-up (dilate) allowing more blood flow to the tissues.

Now here’s the kicker. Body tissues that are continually starved of blood and oxygen result in declining NO production and diminished blood flow over time.

Poor circulation is the major reason why Type 2 Diabetes is progressive.

Without adequate levels of nitric oxide to open-up your blood vessels — wound healing will be slow, nerve damage will accelerate and adequate blood flow to nourish your kidneys, eyes, heart, legs, hands, gums, brain, sexual organs and intestines will diminish to a trickle as time passes.

In effect, every cell in your body is starved of oxygen, nutrients, growth factors and immune elements. In addition, poor blood flow also allows cellular toxins to accumulate, effectively poisoning your body cells and tissues.

It is vital that you realize what’s happening and act to oxygenate and nourish your body cells — or you can expect a miserable quality of life. You can fight and reverse this deadly progression! Read on!
